HELP is on the Way!

GCWW continues to Lead the Way with the Help Eliminate Lead Pipes (HELP) Program.

The health effects from lead in drinking water can be detrimental. Exposure affects everyone but infants, young children, and pregnant women are especially vulnerable. Health effects include brain and nervous system impairment, reduced growth, developmental delays, and behavioral problems.

The best way to reduce the risk of lead in drinking water is to remove lead service lines. However, the cost of replacement may prevent some homeowners from acting. To assist, GCWW created a Lead Service Line Replacement Program (LSLRP) to reduce the financial impact.

Property owners are responsible for paying the cost of replacing their private-side line. Recognizing the cost burden, GCWW has committed to assisting all property owners with a cost-sharing solution on private property. However, some low-income property owners still need additional assistance. Therefore, GCWW offers a customer assistance program to qualified property owners. This program is known as the “Help Eliminate Lead Pipes” program (HELP). HELP provides a one-time cost benefit for private-side replacement, which is applied as a credit on the final bill from GCWW. There will be no cash payment of any kind for recipients of HELP assistance.

Donate to the GCWW HELP Program:

The HELP Program assists eligible customers by further reducing the cost of lead service line replacement. The HELP Program is funded solely by contributions from employees, customers, and the community, in addition to other non-water revenue. Your donation will be used to help reduce the cost of line replacement for eligible low-income property owners, and will make a difference in our community for many years to come.

If you wish to make a one-time donation to the HELP Program via your bank account or credit/debit card, please complete the donation form below.
